Or worry about clothes fitting or things like that.

lol that and you don't have to worry about setting up a meeting and worrying about a schedule and there is no time limit, so really there are a lot of up sides :)

do you use a remote or a timer setting btw? (or something else)

Right now, I use a custom self-timer and various tripods. I use a point and shoot, so I can't use a remote. I wish, that would be a lot simpler for some of my more complicated self-portraits.
